Second day and we divided up into groups of similar ability. We headed to
Crossapoll on the strength of the forecast predicting the wind to swing
West (cross shore, starboard tack).
Spent the morning racing the white water in the very onshore conditions.
Good for jumps but frustrating as one small mistake could mean a long walk
back upwind.
After a couple of hours we decided to de-rig and head to the Maze for some
cross shore port tack sailing. Unfortunately the bottom track was
impassable with the heavy rain reducing the path to a quagmire and the top
path gate was locked as the landowner hadn't received the payment from the
Wave Comp Committee. Eventually ended up back at Crossapoll but the wind
died as soon as I got out.
Good day for jumps but would have been better if we'd had access to the
Maze.
